FIRST NIGHT
There's a thunderstorm as the ferry takes you in to Charter Island - an unexpected one that wasn't there when you left the shore behind, that becomes cold driving rain and growling thunder by the time you arrive on the island. The guides hurry you onto the monorail to the hotel, and from there to your rooms.

Late in the evening, as the storm gets worse, there's a blackout. While lights and internet are out everywhere in the eight-story hotel, and the elevators are non-functional, the fire stairs have dim emergency lighting. Curiously, Gardenpath doesn't go down, either...

GARDENPATH
Gardenpath is the proprietary social media app, loaded while you were on the ferry, that helps with navigation and planning for guests. It contains links to each attraction, ticket line cameras, and the ability to drop geo-markers and create chatrooms to help groups (public or locked to specific contacts) meet up and find their way. A directory of guests checked into the hotel is public, though their room number is private unless the guest chooses to share it with you.

FIRST MORNING
By breakfast-time, the power is back on. The online directory in your room shows you that the ferry service is out of order for inspections after the storm, and that there are blockages on the Green, Red, and Purple lines, restricting access to Royal Midway - only the closest attractions are available. Everyone on the island automatically has a Green Pass for the rail, and given the storm, Red and Purple passes are complementary for one day only. An Aqua Pass is $20. Sadly, Charter Island's cell tower was struck by lightning, and cellular and internet service is limited to island-only communications such as Gardenpath.

The following attractions are still open:

CRIMSON FIELDS
The first stop on the red line has the tennis courts and beach volleyball. The sand is reddish, and the tennis courts are a brilliant scarlet color rather than green.

AQUA PARK
The pools, waterslides, spa, and hot springs are all open and available for immediate use. To the south, beyond them, there's a beach, but it's cordoned off and marked as closed for cleaning - the picturesque trees lining the beach have certainly shed all manner of branches across the silvery sands.

ACRODROME
Along the Purple Line, at the first stop is a stadium. It has a modest food court, a roller-skating rink and roller-derby track, as well as half-pipes and other skating attractions, and a set of climbing walls around the edges of the stadium.

INDIGO CYBER-THEATRE
This glittering skyscraper, the second stop on the Purple Line, contains a twelve-screen IMAX theater, a gaming-centered cyber-cafe (currently restricted to local games only - the mainland communications are still out after the storm), a classic arcade, and a laser tag arena. While the building is large enough for other attractions, the others are closed, signs dark and grilled gates down over the shopfronts. The desk-workers at the other attractions will explain that most of the Resort's staff is focused on maintenance today after last night's unexpected storm.

GUIDELINES
1) this is a sandbox, you don't have to wait for me to fill things in - flesh things out, make things up, post your own logs - go nuts, there's no rules (view the comm profile to see what passes for rules)
2) my plan is for there to be dungeons available at every rail stop during power outages, but I literally have no set plans or ideas for them, or what any answers to this mysterious island's mysteries are.
3) everyone's mystically speaking the same language and spending the same money. For the money thing, we can say you had to trade your cash for tokens to spend on the island - the language thing is just a flat mystery.
4) there are no powercaps & Personas can be summoned during blackouts, but felt as if active at any time.
5) there's definitely a Velvet Room somewhere but nobody has found it yet.
6) when you arrived at the park they made you sign a waiver taking responsibility for your own actions.
